Art. 1.

Object and definitions


  1. The code of ethics is the set of principles and rules that the Biodanza Rolando Toro Araneda System operator (hereafter called Biodanza SRTA) must observe in the exercise of their profession, whatever the scope and legal status in which is carried out, in order to ensure a high level of protection for participants and consumers.

 

  1. The observance of the principles herein written, as well as in possible revisions, rendered necessary by the organs of the Association appointed for this purpose, are of fundamental importance for a full and coherent development of the profession and are binding for the exercise of the same.

 

  1. For the purposes of this Deontological Code, Biodanza operators are those who have officially obtained the qualifying title as defined in the internal rules of AIPOB SRTA.
  2. The Biodanza SRTA operator recognizes the scope of their work in the area of vitality and well-being, in as much as their task is explicit in improving the quality of life, stimulating people’s vital resources and encouraging integrated lifestyles which are respectful of others and of the environment.

 

  1. Their work is focused on the concept of prevention, on the enhancement of the psycho-physical balance and on the stimulation of the vital resources of the individual through the application of the Theoretical Model and the methodology contained therein, elaborated personally by Rolando Toro Araneda in relation to the Biocentric Principle as a cultural reference parameter, in a system articulated by three basic elements: music, movement and vivencia.

 

  1. In compliance with the statutory provisions referred to in art. 2 – item 3 of Law no. 4 of 14/01/2013 – “Provisions for non-organized professions”, the Biodanza SRTA operator is required to know, sign and comply with the rules contained in this code of ethics, to be or to remain registered with the International Professional Association of Biodanza Operators Rolando Toro Araneda System (AIPOB). Ignorance of these rules does not exempt them from the related responsibilities and failure to comply, will be followed by actions to protect the community, other Biodanza operator members and the Rolando Toro Araneda System itself, as required by the by-laws, up to expulsion from the Association.

 

 

Art. 2.

Rules for the exercise of the profession

 

  1. Ethical commitment.

– The SRTA Biodanza operator undertakes to exercise their activity according to conscience. To maintain a correct and fair behaviour with everyone, be they participants, collaborators, colleagues or third parties in general, avoiding everything that may prejudice the reputation of the category and / or the validity and seriousness of the Biodanza discipline.

 

– The SRTA Biodanza operator is bound to respect the participant and their psychophysical condition, and cannot take advantage of the professional relationship to affirm themselves or other unjust advantages.

 

– The SRTA Biodanza operator abstains from undertaking or continuing their professional activity where their personal problems or conflicts, interfering with the effectiveness of their services, can render them inadequate or harmful to the people to whom they are addressing.

 

– The Biodanza SRTA operator recognizes the limits of their competence and therefore uses only the theoretical-practical tools that have been acquired from adequate training and, where necessary, formal authorization.

 

– The Biodanza SRTA operator will take care not to raise unfounded expectations in participant’s expectations, paying particular attention to the correct advertising of their initiatives.

 

– The Biodanza SRTA operator only accepts working conditions that do not compromise compliance with the rules of this code.

 

– In carrying out their teaching activities as a tutor teacher or Didactic teacher, the Biodanza SRTA operator will take care to promote knowledge and compliance with the rules contained in this code to the students of the training schools and trainees.

 

  1. Professional commitment.

 

– The Biodanza SRTA operator uses the systemic articulation between music, movement and vivencia as a specific instrument of the profession, recognizes the Biocentric principle as a cultural reference value and commits to respect the theory and methodology of the Biodanza System by Rolando Toro Araneda, as indicated by Rolando Toro Araneda in his Normative Orientation.

 

– In exercising this profession, the Biodanza SRTA operator respects the dignity, the right to privacy, self-determination and autonomy of those who make use their work.

 

– The Biodanza SRTA operator does not discriminate on the basis of religions, ethnic groups, political convictions, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, social background, socio-economic status, age, condition of different abilities.

 

– The Biodanza SRTA operator exercises their profession directly in first person, without pseudonyms. In all their actions they must safeguard the seriousness and credibility of their profession.

 

– The Biodanza SRTA operator, to protect participants and the profession, is required to maintain proper prudence with the use of cognitive tools and interventions reserved for the profession, as well as the use of the “musical heritage” in the combination of exercises provided for by the Biodanza methodology.

 

– The Biodanza SRTA operator carries out their professional activity, without crossing over to the pertinence of other professions.

 

– The Biodanza SRTA operator must report in writing to the Association of any abusive exercise of the profession that has come to their awareness.

 

– The Biodanza SRTA operator complies with current administrative and tax regulations and provides adequate insurance coverage for civil liability towards third parties.

 

  1. Professional secrecy.

– The Biodanza SRTA operator is strictly bound to professional secrecy. Therefore they may not reveal news, facts and / or information learned within the scope of their profession and encourages analogous behaviour of confidentiality with respect to the privacy that safeguards the execution of the vivencia of Biodanza.

 

  1. Professional space (by which is intended the space for executing the professional activity).

 

– The premises where the Biodanza SRTA operator mainly carries out their professional activity must correspond to the requirements of the current legislation.

  1. Professional development.

 

– The Biodanza SRTA operator is required to maintain an adequate level of professional preparation and to carry out the work of updating and refining their professional skills through lifelong learning activities.

 

– The determination of a fee is at the discretion of the Biodanza SRTA operator. It is however desirable that the same be inspired by the criteria of fairness and recognition of the value of the service that is offered, in compliance also with the professionalism of the other Biodanza SRTA operators and the fees that are being applying in the same area.

 

Art. 3.

 

Relations with colleagues

 

  1. The relationships between Biodanza SRTA operators are inspired by the principles of mutual respect and are based on maximum correctness, loyalty and professional solidarity.

 

  1. Biodanza SRTA operators refrain from publicly expressing derogatory judgments on the professional competence of colleagues and/or any judgment that harms the dignity of the person and their professional reputation.

 

  1. The Biodanza SRTA operator can promote their own initiatives during the performance of an activity held by a colleague only if they have requested and obtained consent.

 

  1. It is desirable that the Biodanza SRTA operator, in consideration of the value of interpersonal communication, make their initiatives known to their colleagues who work in habitually in these places, and to colleagues who work in places where the operator will work occasionally, especially if the usual customers of the colleagues who work locally will be involved in the proposals of the external colleague.

Art. 4.

Collaboration with operators and professionals of other disciplines

 

  1. In the collaboration with operators and professionals of other disciplines, with bodies, medical offices, socio-health and pedagogical structures, the Biodanza SRTA operator exercises full professional autonomy while respecting the other skills, providing their work in strict compliance with the methodology of Biodanza Rolando Toro Araneda System.

 

Art. 5.

Relations with participants and consumers

 

  1. Informed consent. The Biodanza SRTA operator in the initial phase of the professional relationship provides the individual, the group, the institution or the community, whether they are participants or consumers, with adequate and comprehensible information about the activity, its aims and methods, as well as about the degree and legal limits of confidentiality. Therefore they operate is such a way that those entitled to it can express informed consent. Informed consent is based on the fundamental norm of respect for the person and on the principles of autonomy according to which everyone is free to choose that which they retain best for their individual growth.

 

Informed consent carries the information of the Biodanza SRTA operator and must be signed by the participant who in this way certifies to be fit for physical activity according to the modalities of the Civil Code.

 

  1. The Biodanza SRTA operator will pay attention to participants who declare and / or display particular problems, taking care in this case, to request specialized certification.

 

  1. In the case of collaboration with colleagues or other operators from different disciplines, the Biodanza SRTA operator can only share the information strictly necessary for the improvement of the welfare status of the participant who must in any case give consent.

 

  1. The Biodanza SRTA operator must stimulate an active attitude in the participant thus discouraging any form of dependence.

 

  1. In the exercise of the profession the Biodanza SRTA operator creates a welcoming and serene environment in which every participant can feel accepted.
  2. The operator of Biodanza SRTA respects the evolutionary path of each one and behaves with equality showing the same availability towards everyone.

Art. 6

Advertising

 

  1. The Biodanza SRTA operator, who is advertising their initiatives (flyers, web pages, interviews with the media), must present their professional identity as well as their training, experience and competence, in a correct and adequate way, avoiding the abusive use of the term Biodanza associated with city, province or region; or associated with any other disciplines in an equivocal and / or misleading way on the nature and the limits of the Biodanza discipline with respect to other disciplines.

 

  1. The style of communication must be inspired by criteria of professional decorum, methodological seriousness, observance of the normative orientation of Rolando Toro Araneda and protection of the image of the profession.

 

  1. The Biodanza SRTA operator in a correct and adequate way must abstain from any form of misleading advertising, renouncing the use of qualifications and / or academic qualifications that do not belong to them.

 

Art. 7.

Sanctions

 

Failure to comply with the obligations specified in this Code of Ethics and any action or omission that may adversely affect the dignity, principles and consistency of the Biodanza System Rolando Toro Araneda will be sanctioned according to the disciplinary procedures laid down in the Articles of Association. In particular, the Board of Arbitrators will manage any non-compliance and / or possible conflicts, proposing sanctions to be applied.

 

 

Art. 8

 

Implementing rules

 

The International Professional Association of Biodanza Operators Rolando Toro Araneda System (AIPOB) will take charge, with its statutory bodies (Assembly, Presidency, Board of Directors, Board of Arbitrators, Scientific and Technical Committee), to promote the knowledge and observance of the rules of the present deontological code, taking care of the necessary updates.

 

Art. 9

 

Implementation

 

The present deontological Code comes into force with the approval of the Shareholders’ Meeting of 11/16/2013.
