“If the world doesn’t have a house for you build one for yourself.”
So goes the popular motto inviting one to willingly assume their own vocation, their own destiny. And this is what we have done. After the death of Rolando Toro the world of Biodanza continued its journey in the freedom of choice, each according to their own inclinations, their own view of things, their own way of interpreting the inheritance, the legacy of those who created Biodanza and looked after it in the course of a lifetime. Thus were rendered visible the differences that made the need to define its own identity inescapable. The house that was common ground while Rolando Toro was alive could no longer contain all without distinction.
We needed a place where “his” Biodanza, his exercises, his music, his training projects, his idea of the way in which Biodanza was to grow, change and enrich itself, would find hospitality and protection.
From this desire, from this assumption of responsibility and with respect to what he asked for in his will, comes this new association for Biodanza teachers: AIPOB (International Professional Association of Biodanza Operators – Rolando Araneda Toro System).

It is not a generic association for teachers. That already exists and performs its duties well. This is an association for teachers who share the idea of fidelity to the proposals of Rolando Toro who are committed proposing Biodanza according to the system created by Rolando with its fundamental constituents. Faced with the aspirations for change, for blending with other techniques and disciplines a path opens, that in the long run, years and generations, will make Biodanza unrecognizable.

That this is so is part of the nature of things and it is natural that evolutionary mutations are born which today are unpredictable and unexpected. But it is important that Rolando Toro’s original project is preserved somewhere as a yardstick to which all can refer.

This is not an easy task. It is not easy to take on this role while maintaining the creativity and adaptation that each system requires in order not to die from remaining impervious to changes in the environment and history. We are optimistic and enthusiastic. We believe it is possible and that it is an adventure worth living. For there is great satisfaction in seeing how effective Biodanza is each time we propose it, as we have seen, experienced and learned from Rolando Toro, great is the wonder at its ability to generate deep transformations using the tools that he has made available for us.
There. This is the feeling that inhabits our home.
If you recognize yourself in this approach, you are welcome.
Together we can all take care of important issues affecting the profession of Biodanza operators.

In Italy a new Italian National Law has opened up possibilities for us consenting to the recognition of many “new” professions. Like any law, while offering tutelage, it asks for guarantees: on the training, the behaviour of individual teachers who will be asked to sign a code of ethics, on the updating of lifelong learning and compliance with existing regulations.
On these and other issues, the Association will make specific commitments: it will guarantee and attest to the professional standards of its own members, it will provide opportunities for professional updating will provide members with tools to accompany them in their profession as Biodanza operators.
Ideality and concreteness.
And community. We want a place of sharing and participation where all can give and receive, meet and get to know each other and bring into play experience, knowledge, creativity and enthusiasm.
From this starting point whoever wants to adhere is welcome.
